What will you do after you retire?
You see I have retired.( Two years ago.)
Over fifty years in the workforce. From accountancy, insurance, transport, fashion (ladies, retail and wholesale), photographic to cleaning.
Going from General Manager Sales and Marketing for a group of eleven companies to a cleaner was possibly the toughest challenge I ever had to face.
You turn a negative into a positive don't you. Cleaning is one of the most diverse industries imaginable. It actually employs 11% of our workforce.
Starting off as a cleaner I actually became passionate enough to build yet another business or two, and eventually founding a Cleaning Association, Individual Cleaners Association of Australia & New Zealand. I built the association until it could function without my presence, and having stepped aside, I suddenly found myself in a void.
I have been a member of the Carpet Cleaners Forum for several years, and have started to find because I am no longer working my interest is starting to wain. I then discovered Flying Solo, a forum which I have helped to develop.
Ive been a member of the Australian Institute of Management for quite a number of years, and it was by chance that I found we now have a forum.
Should any forum member have a particular business problem, or would like a second opinion, then please feel free to post.
So that's a little about me, why not tell us about yourself.
To understand the person posting makes all the difference.
