Carla Zampatti - a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management NSW & ACT, and recent keynote speaker at the AIM International Women's Day Lunch has just been awarded the highest honour - a Companion in the Order of Australia (AC) for this year's Queen's Birthday Honours.
What an outstanding achievement and recognition to her skills in management, philanthropy, and the arts - a very successful businesswoman who has had a challenging and vibrant career in the fashion industry. At our recent International Women's Day Lunch in March, Carla admitted to almost losing her business and declaring bankruptcy when a commercial property acquisition did not go as she had planned.
In today's The Australian newspaper, Carla is quoted as saying:
"This is the kind of country that allows people to succeed if they have the ability and the determination," Zampatti said.
"Today women are almost expected to be part of the business framework but when I was first starting, it was most unusual."
